One thesis on the homepage, and everything else supports it.

What they show

A homepage built around a single line, 'It's not about ideas. It's about making ideas happen,' with panels underneath for Contact, Investments, Bio and recent posts, plus his books (Making Ideas Happen, The Messy Middle) and Implications, his newsletter for product leaders. The Bio page is a pasted official bio covering Behance, his years as Adobe's Chief Product Officer, his current role as a Partner at A24, and a long list of boards and early investments. The Investments page functions as the portfolio: companies backed rather than products designed.

Why it works at this level

Founders and executives at this level have a different problem from Directors: too much to show, not too little. Belsky solves it by choosing one idea and making the entire site an expression of it. The books, the newsletter and the investing all read as instances of the same thesis about execution, so a visitor leaves with a single sentence they can repeat. The Investments page is a clever move for a founder-turned-investor: it replaces case studies with a list of bets, which is what people now want to evaluate him on.

What to steal

Find the one sentence you'd want people to repeat about how you work and put it at the top. Then check whether every section of the site is evidence for it, and cut what isn't. If you've started advising or investing, list the companies; it's a portfolio of judgment.

What I'd change

One thing I'd push on. Every site here is good; this is the note I'd send the author.

The homepage never says what he does now or what he built. His role at A24 and the Behance story both live only in a pasted bio one click away, so a first-time visitor gets the thesis without the person behind it.
